Refund Policy

Last-minute cancellations limit opportunities for others to register. Therefore, refunds are only available if you cancel at least seven days prior to the beginning of class.

Note: Irrespective of when you cancel, ticket processing fees are not refunded. These are fees paid to the credit card company that we have no ability to request funding.

Refunds can be processed in three ways.
  1. We can hold you funds and register you for the next class. If there is an increase in fees you will NOT be charged extra.
  2. We can refund your money (less processing fees) back to your credit card. We do hope you reconsider and join the next class.
  3. AAACERT is a 501(c)3 non-profit and donations can be tax deductible. You can request to have your fees switched to a donation.

To request a refund, follow the link in the email from the TicketTailor system or email us at tickets@aaacert.org and let us know what your refund option will be.

Your Equipment

All of our instructors are volunteers. We do not get paid for teaching the course. We are also very fortunate that the Anne Arundel County Fire Training Academy (FCA) allows us to use their facility for the classes and the disaster sim. If the instruction is free and the classrooms are free, where does your money go?

Each student is given a modified CERT bag (or go-bag, rescue bag, equipment bag, what have you). Besides the few dollars in credit card fees, 100% of your class fees is for the bag and equipment inside. We do our best to order in bulk to help keep pricing down. To give you an idea of the costs, just five years ago each complete bag cost under $50. As of the end of 2025 the cost is over $77.

UPCOMING CLASSES

Scheduling for classes does not happen until the beginning of the year due to the very busy nature of the Fire Training Academy. Ending times for each day is estimated. Most classes end by 3:00 PM.
